Brooklyn Tavern
About This Spot
Brooklyn Tavern is a quiet relic tucked away in the heart of Cosmopolis, a place where time slows and stories feel threaded into every worn surface. Arriving here is more than a visit—it’s a step into an era shaped by logging and rugged, hands-on lives, all captured inside a rustic wooden building dating back to 1927. The journey to get here follows a gravel road, an off-the-beaten-path passage that sets the tone for a true escape from the modern rush.
Inside, the mood settles into something comfortable and unhurried. The atmosphere hums softly with the echo of history, with walls adorned by logging tools and artifacts that connect the present to the region’s hardworking past. It’s the kind of place where locals gather, not to impress, but to share something genuine—a quiet camaraderie that’s almost tangible amid the timber and pool tables.
Hours here slip by casually. Whether you’re waiting for a simple grilled meal or nursing a drink, the pace encourages you to stay grounded, to join conversations with friendly faces who know this spot well. The menu complements the setting, offering hearty fare that feels right at home alongside a well-poured beer or a classic cocktail. This isn’t a place of fleeting trends but of enduring character where the food and drink serve as a backdrop to the human moments unfolding around you.
Brooklyn Tavern invites those who seek a little solitude wrapped in authenticity or a chance to commune quietly with the spirit of the Pacific Northwest’s logging heritage. It’s a bar to go to intentionally—not stumbled upon—where each visit deepens a connection to the land, the people who have shaped it, and the stories they carry.”

These guys are the best! The real deal. No posers please, they've been there and done everything! Please visit before they're gone and buried.

What a unique place. Very off the beaten path, Brooklyn Tavern is a museum in and of itself. Dating back to the hey day of logging, the Tavern is decorated with all sorts of logging equipment, tools and items of interest. Play pool or have a drink while waiting for your order of grill fare now including a "chillie burger"...on special order! This is a place you "go to" not happen to drive by. The drive makes a nice loop out of Oakville, wa on Highway 12, over the hills to US 101 and back through Montesano. (The Oakville side IS 7 miles of good gravel road.) If it's not snowing I'm headed back during Christmas! July 2025. Stopped in again! Looks Virginia friends up for lunch. Seems to be another new owner, owners??. One is deaf. One is blind. It's all part of the show! Saginaw Days is September!? Come up and show support!

Been going here for years and love it. Fair warning though, this place may not be for everyone. If being more than 30 miles from any of the following causes you a high level of anxiety you should probably reconsider.... cell coverage, Starbucks, electric vehicle charging station (or a gas station for that matter), a restaurant, free wifi, farmers market, shopping mall, or a grocery store. However if thoughts of dirt roads, a warm fire, cold beer, and a friendly conversation is something that interests you, then you'll probably love this place. Tons of logging history awaits you in this cool old Tavern. Also if you have some extra money ring the bell, it's well worth it and you'll make some new friends too; )

We didn't eat food there. However, the owners are always friendly. It's a rustic building circa 1927. It's an old time loggers hangout from years gone by. More of a locals bar now. Unless you drive a truck or side by side/ADV bike the road in is one way in & out because it's gravel a couple miles past the bar for the rest of the way. Since we were on HD touring bikes it was 17 miles in so 34 round trip. That's the only negative about going there except covering up the thousands of bottle caps in parking lot w/gravel. The bottle cap parking lot was unique.

Love this place. They have a spittoon in the floor, pool table, weather system (see sign). All around fun little place.

Great spot for a drink with friends! Excellent atmosphere and a friendly group working the place. There is something to look at in every nook and cranny and adding the dollars to the ceiling is a fun tradition! The food is basic but the burgers are good and the pizzas are alright. We will definitely be visiting again!

You gotta appreciate a place like this that still exists, the new owner is personable and easy going! Seeing all the old photos, equipment and a warm wood stove radiating in there really puts it all together, the new owner mentioned the yard games and fully fenced back yard for your dogs. Definitely gonna go back to check it all out when it's light out.
